Poem: You call me crazy

You call me crazy,
because I can’t stay quiet
because you got used to see me
in another light.

You call me crazy,
because I no longer walk that path
and you are here whining,
asking what happened to me.

You call me crazy,
because now I don’t give a sh**;
I’ve decided to be angry
and declare war.

For too long
I have kept my lips zipped,
now you have no option
but to hear me scream at your door.

You call me a criminal,
does that satisfy you?

Tell me, how I should act
with this build up pain,
even if being so well-trained
to keep your mouth shut?

How do you live wanting to die every day?

You call me crazy
because I don’t smile anymore;
my teeth have cracked
holding the falseness, strong.

You call me crazy
because I’m never satisfied,
because you are now seeing
what has lived inside here for too long?

“And you shall be criticized”,
they said to me,
“when you decide
to live free from the norm”.

So, go ahead, call me crazy
see if I care.
I’m done living
by your standards, anymore.
